To receive academic credit for an internship or co-op experience, students must meet the following hourly requirements within a single semester:

  • Internship (Course 396 or 696): Approximately 150 work hours are required to earn 3 credit hours.
  • Co-op (CEP 300): Approximately 150 work hours are required to earn 3 credit hours.

Next Steps

For 396/496 courses, students need to report the experience on Handshake. Once both the employer's and faculty's approval is received through Handshake, then a permit is issued and you will be contacted via email with permission to enroll.  It is advised to discuss learning objectives with the faculty member who is in charge of experiential learning.
